Yana & Mikkel

Yana & Mikkel. Woww. Just wow. What a wonderful experience. To have been a part of their day was so special for me, not only because of the incredible privilege it is to photograph a wedding, but to have had such a deep connection with the people that trusted you to do so, makes what I do feel so special to me. I can really get along with most everyone and always try to see beauty in everything (optimistic), I have a deep love and respect for people, I feel natural around them, and still sometimes, there are those that come into your life and their presence shines so bright that they inspire you to be a bigger, freer, and truly genuine version of yourself. In short, their love was so radiant, it filled me up simply from the proximity to it.

Not a random experience or meeting, I should say it is quite the contrary – as I also had the ability to help them plan their day alongside their vision offering recommendations where needed, and I also got to spend a full evening with them as we bounced from place to place around town. Our time together started at one of the best chapels in the city, Sure Thing Chapel with officiating by the Alternative Demon-God named Hellvis, then to the iconic Neon Museum for couple’s portraits and group shots, eventually off for a casual bite and couple’s session at Evel Pie in the classic downtown Vegas. After I put my cameras away, they invited me to join them at their afterparty and we cruised the highway together in my Jag so we could continue to celebrate their love with their friends.

I mentioned to them as we chatted at one of my favorite bars, that I fully recognized how important it was for me to be present for them and offer them the best service I could, as their particular wedding was planned and attended from across the ocean. I do not take it lightly when people are willing to do something that big and important. I would like to emphasize that I feel this way about all my clients – I value them and each wedding as a unique meeting of equal importance. They are from Copenhagen, Denmark, so it was a BIG trip for them! So, throughout the correspondence and planning, we got to know one another a bit and I am thrilled that what felt like a good match over video calls, ended up feeling kismet in person. I am thrilled with how their pictures turned out. And, I think they are a great example of what “showing up” for your wedding could look like. Smiling, genuine, easy-going, spontaneous, stylish, and as if it weren’t evident enough, they are truly COOL AF. I love them so much and I am so happy for you, Yana & Mikkel, may life always bring you good health and deepened love for one another. Excited to see you again sometime, thank you a hundred times.
